Visit by Zoolab
Snakes, hissing cockroaches and other creepy crawlies invaded Fairfield High School today (12/01/06).
No it wasn't the students or the staff, but 'Zoo-Lab'.
Tim talked to each class of year 7 students on the subject of endangered animals and how to help avoid the animals becoming extinct in the future.
During each session students and staff were able to hold the animals and ask questions to enable the year 7 to complete their assessment task this term for Geography. The news that we had visitors went around the school like wild fire and from the quotes below it can be seen the students thoroughly enjoyed the visit.
Quotes form pupils on their thoughts and reactions about the experience.
'Holding the animals was the best because I thought I wouldn't be able to do it, but I did'
'Touching the animals was the thing I enjoyed the most, especially the snake, to feel the different textures'
'It was a once in a life time chance to hold the animals'
'Yes it was brilliant I really enjoyed it'
'I enjoyed the talking about how and why animals become extinct'
