Drama
Pupils enjoy learning through the medium of Drama. We encourage the individual to develop social and interactive skills by stimulating imagination and creativity. Pupils of all abilities are encouraged to work together to produce highly entertaining performance work which they are always keen to present to others.
Key Stage 3
Two lessons a fortnight
The lessons cover Dramatic skills such as story telling characterisation, Improvisation - structured and polished hotseating, mime, role-play, freeze-frame, physical Theatre and Mask work.
Key Stage 4 - 5 Lessons a fortnight
Students have the opportunity to study GCSE Drama, GCSE Expressive Arts, GCSE Dance and GCSE Media Studies. Students receive five lessons a fortnight in their chosen option.
Year 7 Modules
In storytelling, characterisation, improvisation - structured and polished, hot seating, mime, role play, freeze-frame
Facilities
The Bridge Theatre - a large fully working 'studio' style theatre with seating for 120 people. The Theatre can demonstrate performances in the round, end on and can be utilised as a 'black box'. The theatre is fully equipped with an up-to-date sound system and fat frog lighting system, it also offers a sprung floor facility.
The performance Studio - a large Performance space with changing facilities, sprung floor, mirrored wall sound system and interactive whiteboard.
