ICT
We aim to provide an enjoyable learning environment by using interactive activities that help
develop skills and understanding. We believe that this type of learning provides our young
pupils with a sound platform for using ICT in their adult working life and for
lifelong learning.
Key Stage 3 - 2 lessons a fortnight
The students study modules in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, desk-top publishing, web authoring, control software - project work and skills building
Year 7 - Skills building task using a range of software packages
Year 8 - Project board task allowing pupils to apply and extend the skills learned in year 7.
Year 9 - Pupils will be prepared by completing a practice DIDA Project. Then will also be prepared for online SAT test in ICT which will become compulsory in 2008.
Key Stage 4
Students can study GCSE ICT, Diploma in Digital Applications, GCSE Business Studies or Business Studies and Communications
Optional ICT:
Pupils can choose to follow CIDA - 5 lessons per fortnight
OR, Pupils can choose to follow DIDA - 10 lessons per fortnight
CIDA is equivalent to 2 GCSE's
DIDA is equivalent to 4 GCSE's

Pupils follow core ICT 2 lessons per fortnight and study short course GCSE ICT
Extra Curricular Activities
ICT rooms are open on Wednesday or Thursday 3.10 - 4.00 for coursework computer club for girls in year 7, 8 and 9 once a week in Room 27.

ICT suites with 20 workstations in each room, full range of software, Homework and Coursework Clubs, Young Enterprise Club
