Physical Education
Our emphasis is very much on progressive skill development, knowledge and social
attitudes. We use a variety of teaching strategies. Staff work with drive and purpose
and as positive role models to promote enjoyment and participation in sport. Sporting
success is celebrated annually with awarding of school colours and prizes for
excellence and effort.
Key Stage 3
4/5 lessons a fortnight
Athletics, Basketball, Gymnastics, Rugby Union/League, Football, Volleyball, Hockey, Softball and Healthy Exercise for boys
Athletics, Basketball, Gymnastics, Netball, Rounders,
Football, Dance, Rugby for girls
Key Stage 4
All pupils follow P.E. We also offer GCSE and BTEC 1st in Sport options in P.E. and GCSE Dance
Facilities
Two Gymnasia, dance room, all weather pitch, four
netball/tennis courts, outdoor basketball court, extensive
playing fields, video cameras
Extra-curricular
Inter-House competitions, training sessions, fixtures, galas and a full range of clubs, Sports Presentation Evening
