Learning Support
"Support for pupils with learning difficulties & or disabilities and other vulnerable children is very good." OFSTED Report: March 2006
At Fairfield, all teachers are responsible for providing for pupils with learning difficulties and for identifying those who may need additional support during their high school life.
The Learning Support Manager and her team work closely with staff and parents to support pupils with learning difficulties or disabilities, to raise achievement and to promote well-being.
We follow national guidelines for the identification & assessment of pupils with Special Educantional Needs and organise a variety of additional support measures for pupils, who may receive, as appropriate:
- In-class support
- Key Worker allocation
- Individual coaching / monitoring
- Withdrawal sessions
- Learning Mentor Service
- Reading Programme
- Intervention from a wide variety of external agencies
- Intervention from Halton's Learning Support Service
- Alternative curricular provision
- Learning Support Centre intervention
The Learning Support Manager, (Angela Farr) and Learning Support Team appreciate the importance of parents and teachers working closely together to support pupils in their education.
We welcome any information from parents that will help us make the best possible provision for your children.
