SPORTING ACHIEVERS:
Fairfield High School pupils Ashleigh Smith, 13, who has already captained the Lancashire U14 girls rugby team and Daniel Stapleton, 12, who has won a scholarship with the Widnes Vikings.

TWO young rugby players are celebrating sporting success.
Danny Staple ton, aged 12, has won a sc olarship for Widnes Vikings.
And Ashleigh Smith has been chosen to captain the girls under 14s Lancashire squad. |
Both are pupils at Fairfield High School in Widnes.
Danny's PE teacher, Jenny Lowry, said: "This is an excellent achievement and one of which we are all very proud of."
He was scouted as he competed |
in games throughout Halton.
Ashleigh, who plays for Moorfield Angels, said: "I am elated to have been picked as Lancashire captain after my first trial and can't wait to represent my county and club." |
