STAR BACKING: Spice Girl Mel C has come out in support of Fairfield High.
EMBATTLED parents fighting to save Fairfield High School from closure have found a famous ally.
Spice Girl Mel C has spoken out in support of her former school and said she credits Fairfield for steering her away from trouble and on to the path to stardom.
Mel responded to request for her to hack the parents' campaign.
She said: 'My time at Fairfield High was fantastic.
'Not only did I leave with a great education but I was able to pursue my love of performing arts and sport.
'Both departments were brilliant - they kept me busy and out of trouble!'
Parent Chris Blackett said: 'I contacted Mel's management team and was made up when I got a reply.
'Her manager said Mel hoped her comments would help our campaign. Mel didn't want to go too deeply into the politics side of things, but her support is there for all to see.'
