Rugby starlets get their big breaks

TWO young rugby players are celebrating sporting suc­cess.
Danny Staple ton, aged 12, has won a sc olarship for Widnes Vikings.
And Ashleigh Smith has been chosen to captain the girls under 14s Lancashire squad.

Both are pupils at Fairfield High School in Widnes.
Danny's PE teacher, Jenny Lowry, said: "This is an excel­lent achievement and one of which we are all very proud of."
He was scouted as he competed

in games throughout Halton.
Ashleigh, who plays for Moorfield Angels, said: "I am elated to have been picked as Lancashire captain after my first trial and can't wait to represent my county and club."
