'We probably came into this game as underdogs but they dug deep and

FAIRFIELD High caused  an upset with a 34-6. victory over St Peter's High in the North West Counties regional final of the boys' Carnegie Champion Schools Tournament at Year 9.
It was consolation for the Widnes school, who narrowly missed out on a place in the national final.
The regional finals had been postponed in February due to bad weather and in the meantime, the two NWC finalists had contested the national stages.
Bobble Goulding and Craig Glover dominated attack for Fairfield but their skills were complimented by hard-working pack the entire squad's commitment to defence.
