A CHILDREN'S charity is in the money thanks to a bright idea by staff at Fairfield High School.
The team decided to put the cash they would have spent on Christmas cards in a fund for the Give A Child A Chance charity
Each sent just one card each with the names of all the staff included - teachers and non teachers alike - instead of The idea was the brainchild of Lesley Hayes, head of art and assistant headteacher.
The cash total was boosted with help from a fundraising concert by the school's performing arts pupils at the Foundry Church, Widnes.
Yet more cash was raised by music head Janet Whittingham when she performed with the Warrington Concert Band at Sir

A school spokeswoman said: "We would like to say a big thank-you to all who donated, and an extra big thank-you to Janet."
